National Focal Points

In Austria the Federal Ministry of Labour, Family and Youth, to which the Labour Inspectorate belongs, acts as the Focal Point. All important players are represented in the Austrian network. The Labour Inspectorate monitors the compliance with health and safety regulations in enterprises. In this way it contributes towards: • Improvement of health and safety in enterprises and continually improvement of the working conditions of employees • Further development of safety and health at work • Acceptance within society of the importance occupational health and safety.

Labour inspection is the biggest legally commissioned organization for combating deficits in the safety and health at work places in Austria. We act according to uniform principles and are independent from individual interests. A homogenous implementation practice on federal basis ensures that claims of equal rights and fair competition at work are guaranteed.
