Secretary General
“The participation of people with chronic and long standing conditions in the job market is problematic in the EU. One in four people of working age (15 to 64) are estimated to live with long standing health problems that restrict their daily activities. In order to achieve healthy workplaces for all ages, occupational health and safety policies that establish adequate support for people with chronic conditions to remain at work are essential. EPF strongly supports the principle of health in all policies and we look forward to working with EU-OSHA and campaign partners.”
Mission Statement:
The European Patients’ Forum (EPF) is an umbrella organisation that works with patients’ groups in public health and health advocacy across Europe. Our 67 members are patient organisations that represent specific chronic disease groups at EU level or are national coalitions of patients. Our mission is to ensure that the patient community drives policies and programmes that affect patients’ lives to bring changes empowering them to be equal citizens in the EU. EPF helps to empower patients’ organisations through educational seminars, policy initiatives and projects. We coordinate best practice exchanges between patient organisations at European and national levels. Our programmes also help to strengthen their organisational and advocacy capacity.
Our campaign pledge:
The European Patients’ Forum is committed to work with EU OSHA and partners to contribute to inclusive healthy workplaces for all ages.

In particular, we will:
*Disseminate campaign materials to help raise awareness of occupational health and safety at work within our membership and to our partners through our various media channels
*Promote the campaign objectives in a conference under the Slovak Presidency
*Provide the specific perspective of patients with chronic diseases on health and safety at work as needed
