Iceland – Treating and preventing musculoskeletal disorders for healthier workplaces

The most effective way to tackle musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) is through prevention, treatment and management. For this to happen, employers and workers should be encouraged to take part in open conversations and share best practice tips on how to avoid the development of MSDs.

To look at this issue in more detail, the Icelandic focal point is organising an online webinar on 19 November. Speakers discuss how modern work can be elevated from being non-harmful to become pro-actively healthy. They address the benefits of rehabilitation and workers’ right to compensation in relation to accidents at work, in addition to the cost of work-related MSDs for insurance companies. Finally, the session provides conversation starters to help and encourage workers and employers alike to engage in beneficial dialogues about the prevention of MSDs.

Taking place online, the session is open to local companies from all sectors who face the problem of MSDs among staff on a daily basis.
