EULAR invites people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases to join an online course

With the demand for patient representation in rheumatology research increasing every year, the European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) took the initiative to develop an online course. This course is primarily meant for people with rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases who want to provide their perspective as patients and learn how to collaborate with researchers on local, national and international levels during all stages of a scientific project.

The virtual course currently on offer is foreseen to include twelve modules on different topics, such as basic research and dissemination, developing management recommendations and health economics, and so on. Classes will be taught in English, during the span of two years, and, in addition to the primary target audience, they will be open to informal carers and family members, volunteers and staff members of patient organisations, professionals who foster collaborative research, as well as people with general interest in patients’ involvement into scientific studies.

EULAR, as a partner of the “Healthy Workplaces: Lighten the Load 2020-22”, has been helping EU-OSHA spread awareness about musculoskeletal disorders in workplaces for some time now. This online course is another valuable contribution to the joint efforts, particularly, when it comes to involving more people in the management and treatment of MSDs, providing more knowledge and understanding of these disorders in the long-run.

Those interested in participating in the course, can register until 30 November.
