Mission Statement
Background:

The Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) platform is a multi-stakeholder platform which aims to raise awareness of pain, and to change pain policies. SIP is a joint initiative between the European Pain Federation (EFIC) and Pain Alliance Europe (PAE).

The platform provides opportunities for discussion for health care professionals, pain advocacy groups, politicians, healthcare insurance providers, representatives of health authorities, regulators, and budget holders.

Objectives of SIP.

The objectives of SIP are to:

• Raise awareness of the relevance of the impact that pain has on our societies, health and economic systems.

• Exchange information and share best practices across all member states of the European Union.

• Develop and foster European-wide policy strategies & activities for an improved pain care in Europe.
Our campaign pledge
To raise awareness, exchange best practices, and influence policies related to pain, employment, and the integration of pain patients in employment and society as a whole.

The Societal Impact of Pain partners are committed to engaging in the Healthy Workplaces - Lighten the Load 2020-22 campaign to improve the working lives of the millions of workers across Europe suffering from MSDs and pain from other conditions and their consequences.
Influencing policies and practices to improve employment conditions and the social integration of pain patients is a key objective for SIP in 2021 and beyond.
