The health and social care sector has traditionally been ahead of the curve in datafication and digitalisation trends. Accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, the continued technological and societal changes affect not only the workers in the sector but also the affordability and quality of care provision. 

This paper offers evidence on the occupational safety and health (OSH) risks and opportunities of Digital platform work is all paid work provided through, on or mediated by an online platform – that is, an online marketplace operating on digital technologies that facilitate the matching of demand for and supply of labour. in the sector, and its findings aim to help policymakers and platforms to address and manage workers’ needs as well as to strengthen health systems across the EU.
