Understanding musculoskeletal disorders – and learning how to prevent and manage them

From neck pain to sore joints, roughly 3 in every 5 workers in the EU have reported a musculoskeletal disorder (MSD), making MSDs one of the most widespread occupational health issues in Europe. But despite the scale of the issue, MSDs are preventable and manageable.

To learn more, the Croatian focal point is organising a hybrid event on 28 April – the World Day for Safety and Health in the Workplace. Speakers discuss the prevalence of MSDs as an occupational health disorder in the context of the current EU-OSHA campaign, Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load. Speakers also consider the occupational hazards affecting teleworkers while working from home, as well as addressing the symptoms of MSDs and the health consequences of sitting for several hours at a time. The event features an Award ceremony to highlight best practice examples of companies promoting a safe and healthy working culture.

Considering the relevance and scope of the topic, this event is especially relevant to medical professionals and experts working on the promotion and implementation of safety and health at work, as well as business leaders, HR managers, and workers with an interest in preventing and managing MSDs.
