Netherlands – 'Take the step too' campaign kicks off
As in many other EU countries, a high number of people in the Netherlands spend their time sitting during work. The ‘Take the step too’ campaign aims to inform, inspire and motivate Dutch workers to sit less, move more and change positions more often while performing work.
Organised by EU-OSHA's Dutch focal point, this online kick-off meeting launches and publicises this Dutch/European campaign on 'Healthy workplaces lighten the load'. The meeting includes presentations on the facts & figures, practical examples from companies related to getting workers moving, and an interactive lecture on the behavioural science behind getting people started and motivated to move more.
The presentations are interspersed with short exercises, demonstrating to participants how easy it is to take a moment to get moving during the working day. The meeting takes place online with around 110 participants, ranging from employers, HR professionals and occupational health and safety professionals, among others. Organisations and companies from the ‘How TOP do you work?’ campaign, also running in the Netherlands, are also attending.
