Malta - Seminar on safe use of pesticides

This seminar discusses the Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances campaign in Malta and addresses a broad range of occupational health and safety issues posed by the use of pesticides.

Speakers present the 2019-2023 national action plan for the sustainable use of pesticides in Malta. They explain the importance of reducing occupational risks, such as exposures to dangerous substances and introduce good practices for safely handling pesticides.

Speakers also explain the occupational health and safety legislation related to the use of pesticides and stress the need to implement risk assessment and management measures to establish a prevention culture in the workplace.

Finally, they share findings from the inspection campaign on pesticides organised by the Occupational Health and Safety Authority.
