5th SAF€RA Symposium - Emergence of a New Collaborative Work Programme on Industrial Safety
The 5th SAF€RA Symposium takes place as part of the EU-VRI & ETPIS General Assembly. Discussions focus on industrial safety, the latest safety innovations and on using data and intelligent prognostics for ageing facilities and healthcare management.
Official campaign partners Iberdrola and ETPIS open the symposium together with OSALAN, the Basque authority for health and safety at work, and the European Commission. The first session focuses on human and organisational factors, including the value of industrial safety. One of the presentations talks about training managers to be more resilient for system safety, while another looks at preventing accidents.
The second day sees discussions move on to ‘innovating in safety and safe innovations’. This includes a presentation on a multi-sensorial device to prevent occupational disease, and one on smart processes in industry – both important issues for ensuring healthy workplaces for workers of all ages.
A third session on ‘big data and intelligent prognostics for life extension of aging facilities’ includes a presentation on collecting, analysing, and using data for ageing facilities and healthcare management.
The SAF€RA Partnership brings together 21 European institutions, ministries, funding agencies, and stakeholders ready to bring funding or resources to carry out research in industrial safety.
