EFFAT and FoodDrinkEurope join forces to develop toolbox on attracting new talent and managing an ageing workforce

The new toolbox developed by the European Federation of Food, Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions (EFFAT) and FoodDrinkEurope helps to identify bottlenecks in recruiting new and skilled employees, and to tackle challenges arising when companies have an ageing workforce.

Available as a living online platform for employers, employees and interested parties, the toolbox draws on a compilation of 28 hands-on transferable good practice examples and tools submitted by respective national affiliates and members of the European social partners.

Good practice examples include strategies for effective age management policies to try to retain and manage an ageing workforce. There are also examples where social partners have worked together to introduce health promotion policies and reorganise work, for example by focusing on risk prevention, stress reduction, new shift patterns or better ergonomic workplaces.

Official campaign partner EFFAT is a European umbrella organisation representing more than 127 national trade unions from 38 European countries and the interests of more than 2.5 million members working in agriculture, food and tourism.
