Director of the Institute for Work and Health of the DGUV
To promote safe and healthy workplaces with all means is the core business of the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) and the accident insurance institutions in Germany.
The national and international lead strategy to ensure safe and healthy workplaces is ‘Vision Zero’: A strategy that leads to a world without serious and fatal workplace accidents and work-related diseases.
The Vision Zero strategy copes with the main challenges of a new world of work due to new technologies, demographic change and globalization.
A longer working life with an increased exposure to occupational risks and a possible increase in chronic health problems, needs a working environment that takes the different physical and mental age of the individuals into account, supports active and healthy ageing during working-live, facilitates synergy between the generations, compensates age-related deficits by technical devices or medical improvements, and copes with the error-proneness of humans, e.g. by an error-learning culture.
To learn and to re-learn is of an increasing importance within an ageing society and must be an integral part of all ages to ensure the workability and employability of each individual. The European Network Education and Training in Occupational Safety and Health (ENETOSH) offers a platform for systematic knowledge-sharing on issues related to education and training on OSH and a special area dedicated to the topic demographic change.
Deklaracja misji:
The European Network Education and Training in Occupational Safety and Health (ENETOSH) offers a platform for systematic knowledge-sharing on issues concerning education and training in occupational safety and health. The fundamental aim of ENETOSH is to mainstream OSH into education. The assumption is that mainstreaming OSH into education will help boost the overall quality of education and prepares the ground for the development of a culture of prevention.
In educational institutions, the issue of dangerous substances is particularly important: on the one hand, as with any other workplace, hazards due to dangerous substances have to be prevented, and this equally applies to pupils, students, teachers and non-teaching staff as well as researchers. On the other hand, educational institutions play a central role in the earliest possible sensitization to dangerous substances and the safe and health-conscious handling of dangerous substances in everyday life and later professional life.
ENETOSH is coordinated by the Institute for Work and Health the German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV).
Nasza obietnica w ramach kampanii:
ENETOSH will support the Healthy Workplaces for all Ages Campaign 2016 - 2017 of EU OSHA to raise the awareness around the importance of safe and healthy work at any age. The network will especially promote the life-course approach of the campaign. By doing this, ENETOSH will stress the importance of learning and re-learning within an ageing society. In addition the network will raise the question about the different prerequisites for a good learning and working environment at different ages.
