This toolkit demonstrates how companies can benefit from the skills of different age groups in the workforce and provides guidelines, information and good practice approaches. It also contains cases studies that demonstrate joint company–trade union approaches, including the sector’s leading companies. The importance of dialogue in the management of demographic change is also highlighted.

The objective of this toolkit is to help identify the challenges that the gas sector is facing and to propose solutions for overcoming these challenges. The tool demonstrates how companies can benefit from the skills and motivations of different age groups in the workforce and it provides guidelines, information and good practice approaches.

The toolkit also contains cases studies and is intended for policy planning. Several case studies demonstrate joint company–trade union approaches, including the sector’s leading companies. Moreover, the toolkit highlights the importance of social dialogue in the management of demographic change.

This tool will be useful for human resource and line managers and trade union officials working in the gas sector who have a responsibility for drawing up policies and procedures and monitoring progress in this area.
