The campaign motto ‘healthy workplaces for all ages’ is a perfect example of the need for a coherent ‘health in all policies’ approach. Many policy measures for the labour market and the broader economy rely on workers being fit and healthy until retirement age. At the same time the need to invest in health and safety at work to ensure real-life conditions match these policy objectives is often ignored. CPME welcomes the campaign and looks forward to contributing towards healthier workplaces for all.
Mission Statement:
The Standing Committee of European Doctors (CPME) represents national medical associations across Europe. We are committed to contributing the medical profession’s point of view to EU institutions and European policy-making through pro-active cooperation on a wide range of health and healthcare related issues.

We believe the best possible quality of health and access to healthcare should be a reality for everyone.
We see the patient-doctor relationship as fundamental in achieving these objectives.
We are committed to interdisciplinary cooperation among doctors and with other health professions.
We strongly advocate a ‘health in all policies’ approach to encourage cross-sectorial awareness for and action on the determinants of health.
Our campaign pledge:
CPME, representing national medical associations across Europe, looks forward to promoting the campaign by raising awareness and encouraging discussion on healthy workplaces for all ages. CPME will adopt a statement consolidating the CPME policies on occupational health and on active and healthy ageing to demonstrate European doctors’ commitment to improving conditions for all workers.
