Bulgaria celebrates the Healthy Workplaces ‘Lighten the Load’ campaign with a final national conference in Sofia on September 27. Ministry representatives, national organisations of employers and employees, OSH specialists and business leaders are invited to participate.

The first panel will be dedicated to managing musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) risks in the workplace. A new project of the Department of Occupational Medicine at the Sofia Medical University regarding ergonomic risks will be presented, as well as a new guide on "Prevention of musculoskeletal injuries at work: Screening for early identification”. A presentation of the national inspection campaign conducted by the Labour Inspectorate will shed light on MSD prevention challenges across various sectors, as well as the relevant legislation.

The largest trade union organisation, CITUB, will present the results and main recommendations of a national survey in sectors such as light industry, health care, services and education. In the second panel, representatives of enterprises will present their approaches and innovative practices for risk management in relation to MSDs.
