Our campaign pledge
The incidents of musculoskeletal disorders has grown significantly across workplaces and evidence suggests incidents tend to be higher in the agriculture, health and social welfare and construction sectors.
Understanding the issues, assessing the risk and planning for early intervention, including educating the workforce, are essential to achieve our aim to ensure workers remain safe and in good physical health.
IOSH is aligning its work on MSDs with that of EU-OSHA to inform and protect more people.

Vanessa HARWOOD-WHITCHER
Chief Executive
“IOSH is delighted to support EU-OSHA’s Lighten the Load campaign, as there is much still to be done to reduce the impact of MSDs across all workplaces.
“Preventing and managing MSDs is one of IOSH’s priority areas and we will seek to align our own campaigning and activity with that of EU-OSHA. We hope that our voice, unified with others, will help to raise awareness, share good practice and improve standards of management that contribute to a safer, healthier world of work.
“This is at the heart of what our 48,000 members, based in businesses in EU member states and other countries, strive to do every day.”
“This is at the heart of what our 47,000 members based in and advising businesses in, EU member states and other countries, strive to do every day.”
