Designed in an aligned approach between Health, Safety & Environment and Human Resources, the “House of Health” is a central marketplace – in a first step focusing on topics around mental health. This platform aims to raise awareness and offer easy-to-use tools and materials for employees and leaders to foster a holistic health & well-being approach at Bayer.

Among other elements of overall health, mental health is an emerging risk. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated our understanding on how important this is. There is a huge ask (and need) in the organization for a structured support regarding health matters. At the same time, the pandemic has boosted interest for people to take health in their own hands – we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to ensure our employees have access to information that will help them to BeWell@Bayer. Healthy employees will thrive and contribute to successful business outcomes.

House of Health addresses all these challenges: through a centrally available platform with content reviewed and endorsed by professionals for employees and leaders. Experts who are tasked at rolling-out health-related initiatives in their countries will also find the global guidance and toolkits for their usage and personalization. As a result, we hope to steer a consistent approach everywhere at Bayer.

The House of Health has open doors and windows and invites all employees to engage in a dialogue about health. In four different rooms there are in-depth information, guidelines, and interesting examples from different countries. The following rooms are available:

  1. “Emotional Health & Resilience” covering e.g., mental health awareness, resilience, animations on mental health tips, and an overview of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
  2. “Well-being at work & Ergonomics” including e.g., ergonomics checklist, chair guidance, exercise videos and “Lighten the load” campaign documents (Info Sheets, Infographics, presentations)
  3. “Healthy living & Self-care” with e.g., nutrition, work-life-balance, and social relationships
  4. “Healthy leading” providing e.g., one pager, guidelines, and how-to’s
