Norway – Practical insights into preventing musculoskeletal disorders
Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are among the most common causes of disability, sick leave and early retirement in Europe. As a result, the prevention of MSDs is not only good for the personal health of workers, but it’s also good for the productivity of businesses.
To examine the idea of prevention in more detail, and to launch EU-OSHA’s Healthy Workplaces ‘Lighten the Load’ campaign, the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority, in collaboration with the Norwegian Institute for the Working Environment and social partners, is organising an event on 23 October. Speakers address how MSDs can be prevented in the workplace, in addition to sharing practical tips, advice and experience from business scenarios. The session also focuses on the consequences of Covid-19 for the working environment, and for workers’ health.
Speakers also present relevant tools to assist in preventing the development of MSDs. The session is useful for representatives from public authorities, organisations and businesses that have an interest in the working environment and the protection of workers’ health.
