Portugal – Musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace – the facts and figures

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are a problem not only for individual workers, but also for businesses, economies and society, being one of the most common causes of disability, sick leave and early retirement.

To provide a more evidence-based analysis of the situation in workplaces, the Portuguese focal point hosts a webinar featuring two presentations on the facts and figures.

The first presentation looks at the evidence concerning the prevalence of musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace. This is followed by an ergonomic analysis of the chemical-pharmaceutical industry, specifically looking at the risk of musculoskeletal injuries in production.

Taking place online with around 100 participants, the webinar is of particular interest to workers’ representatives, employers and researchers in the field of OSH.
