The EU-OSHA Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2016-17 on 'Healthy workplaces for all ages' addresses one of CESI's core priorities.
As a trade union confederation, CESI has for long worked to promote adequate health and safety measures for all workers, be they young, mid-aged or of older age. At CESI, we believe that effective occupational health and safety must be ensured without gaps throughout the entire work life cycle of employees - When there is a gap, this will likely have negative implications for individual workers at present and in the future too.
We warmly welcome EU-OSHA's awareness-raising campaign on this topic and will do our best to help make it a success.
Misijas apraksts:
The European Confederation of Independent Trade Unions (CESI) is a Brussels-based umbrella organisation gathering trade unions from EU Member States and associated countries. CESI defends the interests of over five million workers. As an interest group, a recognised social partner and a member of important networks and alliances, CESI aims to be a strong voice in Brussels:
As a recognised European social partner, CESI is actively engaged in the European social dialogue process. CESI and its members take part in several EU sectoral social dialogue committees. As an independent organisation, CESI is in favour of trade union pluralism and inclusive social dialogue.
Trade councils and commissions, composed of expert representatives of CESI’s members, guide and inform the issue-specific policy advocacy work of the General Secretariat at the national and EU level. In ongoing dialogue with politicians and decisionmakers, CESI actively inputs into policy debates and represents the interests of its members. CESI holds topical events, making its voice heard more effectively.
In all activities and projects, CESI aims to maximise its visibility and impact. To this end, CESI works together with other interest groups in different policy areas and plays an active role in several important stakeholder alliances.
Through its own training centre, the Europe Academy, CESI implements yearlong internal capacity building projects. In this way, CESI members receive expert knowlegde about important EU political developments.
Mūsu kampaņas apņemšanās:
CESI will disseminate campaign-related information by EU-OSHA and campaign partners to its member organisations, affiliates and external stakeholder partners. In the same way, CESI will relay news from its network to EU-OSHA and campaign partners.
CESI will run two major capacity-building seminars on ways to achieve an effective occupational health and safety management.
This will be accompanied by a study on best practices from a number of EU Member States. Likely, at least one of the best practices identified will submitted as a nomination for a Healthy Workplaces Good Practice Award.
