Lightening the load with the help of robots and exoskeletons

Robots and occupational exoskeletons are increasingly being used to relieve physical burden in the workplace. They offer a solution where other technical, organisational or ergonomic design measures are insufficient and can help in the prevention of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

To discuss their impact, the Italian focal point is holding a seminar on 8 November to discuss legislation on the subject and analyse the emerging risks and technological solutions that robots and exoskeletons can provide in the handling of heavy loads. The event concludes with a discussion between the institutions and social partners on the most pressing occupational safety and prevention issues in industry.

The event takes place in Rome and is streamed online with national focal point representatives, stakeholders, campaign partners, workers, employers and OSH experts.
