Shaping the future of health and safety in the construction sector

Official Campaign Partners, the European Safety Federation and EIFFAGE, host a conference on 29 October to discuss the challenges associated with a dynamic, high-risk working environment and look at the opportunities to improve the safety and health of all workers in the sector.

In many cases, accidents in the construction industry are potentially very serious due to the risks of daily activities such as working at height, working in confined spaces, being exposed to airborne and physical hazards and many more. Construction workers also face an increased risk of developing musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) due to moving heavy loads, working in awkward postures and from machinery vibrations.

Exchanging information and best practice is key to ensuring a continuous process of improvement in managing safety and health on construction sites. These efforts should apply to all construction workers as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
