Lithuania – How can we lessen the risk of musculoskeletal disorders in the workplace?

Considering that 60% of all workers with a work-related health problem in the EU identify musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) as their most serious issue, it’s important that both workers and businesses alike understand the risk factors that can cause or aggravate a musculoskeletal condition.

To investigate this issue, the Lithuanian focal point is organising an event on 5 May focusing on identifying the root causes of work-related MSDs and offering practical advice to lessen the risk. Speakers address the current state of work-related MSDs in Europe and Lithuania and review tools and approaches that may contribute to reducing the prevalence of the conditions among workers.  The speakers take into account the different types of risk, particularly focusing on the significance of psychosocial risk. They also address the benefits of cooperation with Lithuanian municipal public health institutions.

The session takes place in Vilnius and is particularly of interest to safety and health specialists, business owners, and other individuals looking to tackle the problem in their own workplace.
