Description

Description:

This website provides practical advice and guidance to prevent musculoskeletal disorders for workers in the retail and grocery sector. Retail workers are at risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). While workers working at counters have to stand for long time, the work for cashiers is associated with long periods of sitting. In addition, most grocery store jobs involve some lifting and awkward postures such as kneeling, bending and stretching or working overhead. The Austrian Labour Inspection started a project to help workers in the retail and grocey sector to prevent occupational MSDs with special focus on workplace design, work organisation, ergonomic work equipment and working postures.
