About the Toolkit

What is the campaign toolkit and why is it useful

There’s little doubt that advertising, marketing and public relations campaigns can significantly affect how people think and act. But can the same ‘promotional principles’ be applied to occupational safety and health (OSH)?

The answer is a resounding ‘yes!’

Even if you don’t have access to the same financial resources as a multinational consumer goods company, you can still motivate people to think and act differently about safety and health at work via a well-planned and targeted campaign that promotes good OSH practice.

The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work has created this website to provide a step-by-step guide on how to plan and run effective promotional campaigns, regardless of the size of your organisation.

Contrary to popular opinion, it isn’t complicated. You just have to get the ‘mix’ right, including the right messages, target audiences and other factors. It is not a set of fixed rules; it is purely a collection of recommendations. Pick and choose what you want and adapt them to your individual circumstances.

We hope you find this toolkit useful!
