Italy – How automation reduces work-related risks
Digital technologies have revolutionised the manufacturing production processes and brought significant benefits for workers.
In light of EU-OSHA’s Campaign 2020-22 Healthy Workplaces Lighten the Load, focusing on musculoskeletal disorders, the Italian focal point is organising a webinar to discuss how smart technology contributes to reducing the risks of accidents at work and occupational diseases, including musculoskeletal disorders.
Participants look at the advantages brought about by letting the machines do the work: the physical effort decreases; the management and maintenance of the entire production line is ensured by software under professionals’ supervision.
Automation also means, reducing all work-related risks, from contact with dangerous substances to the consequences of physical effort on the musculoskeletal system.
Representatives from official national institutions and professional organisations are attending the online event, along with over 50 participants.
