With the right guardrails in place, AI has tremendous potential to positively transform work and improve employees’ experience. A human-centred approach to managing digital technologies and a robust governance structure for implementing AI in the workplace are at the heart of this. At IBM, we’ve encouraged all employees to participate in AI learning so that they are prepared for this change and as a company we are committed to it, by providing access to upskilling so that employees can seize the opportunities offered by digital technologies and use them at the workplace in a secure setting. We’re also convinced that transparency helps build trust. Employees in IBM are fully briefed and invited to learn about new AI models as they become available. We have a model of employee-driven innovation, encouraging IBMers to identify processes ripe for automation, to engage in the design and testing of AI tools, and to be advocates in governance processes. We look forward to sharing our long and meaningful experience throughout the campaign.
